Our Workshops

2nd Quarter Education Program for 2012

At the Aged Care Association-NSW we are proud to present the Practical Workshops for Modern Aged Care 2012 and look forward to assisting with professional development in our industry.

Our practical workshops are planned in five core areas.

Delivering Tasty Food and Beverages Safely offers the accredited Food Safety Level 1 workshop conducted by Centre for Training. This is the basic food safety requirement that all food handlers must have.

Employment Relations continues to offer workshops tailored to meet the current needs of the industry. Half day sessions scheduled for this quarter include: Performance Management and the Disciplinary Process, Effective Communication, Sickness Absence Management and Bullying and Harassment. For those who have an ACAA-NSW Enterprise Agreement, Know Your ACAA-NSW Enterprise Agreement is again scheduled to assist you in understanding the terms and conditions.

Funding and Regulation continues to offer ACFI education to assist facilities and ensure they receive the most appropriate subsidies for their residents.

In addition to our long running ACFI - Understanding It! this year we have introduced an advanced workshop titled ACFI - Maximising It! helping you get the most from your funding.

Specialised Clinical Support is offering the successful Prevention & Control of Infection in Residential Care (2 days), the Prevention & Control of an Outbreak in Residential Care and Wound Management workshops.

Quality and Compliance offers workshops on the topics our consultants have identified as needing the most attention in aged care facilities: Documenting for Quality Care and Medication Management. With the changes to the legislation relating to complaints, we are offering a revised Managing Complaints Effectively workshop.

The Practical Workshops for Modern Aged Care 2012 attracts CPD hours toward The College of Nursing CPD Program. For more information visit the College of Nursing website: www.nursing.edu.au.

Workshops are held in the Continuing Education Centre (CEC) at the ACAA-NSW Office, unless otherwise stated.

By train
We are only a 3 minute walk from Central Railway Station via the Devonshire Street exit.

By car A parking station is located at 55 Holt Street, Surry Hills just around the corner from our office (parking fees apply).

Times

Full day workshops commence promptly at 09:00 and finish by 16:30, unless otherwise stated.
Specific times for half day workshops are advertised with each workshop.
Registration opens 15 minutes before workshop commencement time.

Meals

Please ensure you include any special dietary requirements when registering online.

Full day workshop catering
Arrival tea and coffee, morning tea and lunch with tea, coffee and chilled water available all day.

Half day workshop catering
Arrival tea and coffee, morning or afternoon tea with tea, coffee and chilled water available throughout each workshop.

Payment Methods - All workshop fees are GST inclusive

Payments must be received before the workshop date.
Credit card: Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
Cheque: Make payable to ACAA-NSW. Please include your Confirmation Number on the cheque reverse.
EFT / Direct Debit: Use your Confirmation Number as your reference.
A Tax Invoice will be emailed on receipt of your registration.

ACAA-NSW Cancellation Policy

Refunds will only be paid if the cancellation occurs more than 5 working days prior to the workshop. Cancellations within 5 working days will not be refunded.

A $10.00 cancellation charge will be incurred.

Where ACAA-NSW cancels a workshop, either a transfer to the next workshop date will apply or a full refund will be given.

If a workshop is cancelled, ACAA-NSW is not liable for any related costs incurred by a facility and/or individual (eg accommodation, transport).
